About Me

Hi, I'm Betty. Welcome to my blog!

I'm wife to Joe & mama to Rocco.

Joe and I met 8 years ago...in a bar (!!).
We were just babies back then...

We did all sorts of fun stuff...

Then we got engaged!

We were married on 9-10-11.

A year later I was pregnant.

We didn't find out the gender until delivery and it was the most exciting day of our lives!

Rocco Louis was born 3 days past his due date on 11-14-13 at 10:41p.m. after a relatively short labor and fast delivery. Delivery wasn't without complications, but it was all worth it when we finally met this sweet boy. Joe got to announce the gender and it was just as exciting as I had imagined.

I had "lots" of experience with babies..I had 6 nieces and nephews before Rocco was even born. I totally thought I would know what I was doing the moment he arrived. I learned quickly that I was just as clueless as anyone else. Motherhood has been the best thing that has ever happened to me, I love being a mom more than anything else in life...but it's definitely not without it's challenges! There was a real learning curve involved.

I was determined to breastfeed and it took us quite awhile to get in our groove. During countless hours of nursing/pumping/bottle feeding I would scour Pinterest for parenting advice....that's where I started finding amazing blogs. I would find an interesting post and then I would scroll alllll the way back to the very beginning of the blog so I could read it all. One blog lead to another and I was hooked. It was so refreshing to read about other moms going through what I was going through and to feel reassured that I wasn't as alone as I felt during those hard days in the newborn trenches.

I considered starting a blog so many times but always came up with an excuse not to. 19 months later...here I am. If even just one new mom can find a little comfort in reading something I post, then I'll feel like I've repaid the favor to the other blogs I've found so much comfort in reading.

Thanks for stopping by!
B.
